Spiritual Beings in a Human Experience

I get that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.  I’ve thought about it many times.  But why?  If we are a spark from the source of all things the end game would not be about “returning to the source”.

It’s about the human experience.  This is what should take precedence over the spiritual one.  We should embrace the layers of suffering that we encounter — those moments that are difficult and challenging — those moments that are fabulous and filled with beauty.  Those experiences, those moments create and develop our humanness.  Those experiences make us human.

I believe it is about the path we walk through while being human that then gives us our purpose and our reason for being.

Discovering our spiritual path is only the beginning, living our spiritual path within our humanness is our purpose.

I don’t think you have to leave your world to go on your quest.

I believe you can live where you live, work where you work, be where you are and still go on your journey.

I thought, once in life, taking the journey meant leaving your comfortable existence…renouncing all comforts and living in poverty, hike until you found the right cave in which to ponder the thoughts of life, getting divorced and travel in the manner of “Eat, Pray, Love”.

But this is not the way to do it.  That would be taking on someone else’s journey and path and claiming it as your own—just read the book and you will read the answers.

Although, the answers are the writer’s…perhaps you should just ask the questions.

I have always expected something big to happen.

But now I realize the biggest insights are within the smallest touches of life.
